I lost over five-thousand, 35mm slides, two thousand 6 x 7 transparencies and three-thousand video tapes in Hurricane Katrina. Images presented in this website are a few of the handful that survived the storm.

One year before Katrina ravaged the Mississippi Gulf Coast I began a project I thought would take  the rest of my life -- to convert my transparencies to the digital format.   I actually scanned over 200 slides into my computer (seen below, left) but only copied seventy-two of those images to disk and took them home.  The rest of my work, everything, remained in the office.

The pain and suffering Hurricane Katrina brought was trumped by the relief effort that the rest of the nation heaped upon the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the aftermath of the storm.  Inspired by that kindness, ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of this art will be donated back to recognized charities that helped in the Katrina relief effort.
